OBM Brand Photoshoot at Coffee Shop

Online Business Manager Brand Photoshoot

Rebecca and I started planning her brand photoshoot at the beginning of the New Year. Immediately, we knew we had to find a cute coffee shop to accomplish her vision.

If you know anything about Los Angeles and Orange County, you know that there are “Instagramable” spots alllll over. Finding a cute-as-heck coffee shop
should have been an easy task.

But it wasn’t. During COVID times, it was near impossible.

After our planning call, I set off to Google and Instagram, tracking down all the cute coffee shops in Orange County. I made a huge list and contacted every single one for photoshoot approval.

But sadly, they were shut down and could not allow us inside.

Then I happened upon
Vacancy Coffee. Vacancy Coffee shop is adorably set on West Coast Hwy in Newport Beach, right across the street from the Pacific Ocean. They were our last hope for our coffee shop venue dreams.

After three days of being shut down by business owners throughout Orange County, I got a notification on my phone from the only one I had yet to hear back from.

The notification read, “Vacancy Coffee: We can’t allow indoor photoshoots, unfortunately, but we do have a back patio!”

Thank. THE. HEAVENS. We found one.

As a photographer, it is rare to have seen a brand photoshoot location in person before the photoshoot day. I research ahead of time to ensure I know where the sun will set and plan out our “scenes.” But there is only so much planning one can do, and when I arrived at the patio, I was underwhelmed.

The location wasn’t perfect…but it didn’t need to be.

"The location wasn't perfect...but it didn't need to be."

Having prepared for the unknown, I was ready to go with backdrops, a changing tent, and lighting. In a short 90-minute session, we were able to capture multiple different scenes in different outfits with a variety of props and compositions.

The images all included at least one of Rebecca’s brand colors and turned out exactly how we had initially imagined.

Personal brand photography doesn’t
always require the fanciest Peerspace Studio. It only ~requires~ YOU.

You are the face of your brand and what your clients want to see. Getting professional brand photos will show them that you value your business and the services you provide to them. They don’t need to be fussy; they just need to capture your personality.

That is my specialty! And this photoshoot is an excellent example.

Rebecca’s personality shines through these images and shows an audience who has never met her in person that she is fun, energetic, and ready to do the damn thing!
